Hey all you Marketstar employees!! I'm happy to announce we have joined to offer you a discount on your Individual and Family sessions!! Check in next month's employee newsletter for more information! This is really exciting since it's the first time I have ever joined with a company to offer a discount to their employees! I may just extend this same offer to other companies in the future! So keep your eyes open for your employer's name to pop up on my blog!
If you would like to request your company's name to be added to my list for employee discounts, send me an email with your company's name and a contact number of your HR representative, and I would be glad to talk to them about including you in my employee discount program!

My absolute favorite season is Autumn! It’s also my favorite time to photograph with the changing colors. And even though I am already pretty busy, I love this season so much that I want to do something fun and different!
SO...I’m going to get MY fall started early with a contest!!
To enter my fall contest:
Email or Facebook me why you, or someone you know, should win a FREE portrait session with me! I want to know anything and everything to help me make my decision! Entries will be accepted until 11:59pm on August 31st. The winner will be announced September 1st! I will also announce a runner-up who will receive a HALF-PRICE session! Can’t wait to hear from you! GOOD LUCK!

I was lucky to photograph one of the cutest little guys I know this last weekend! :) He hasn't changed a bit since I first met him four years ago!
For his 5th birthday, his awesome parents got a pony for his party! Such a lucky guy! Thank you Carolyn and Michael for letting me come out and see you guys! I love how the pics turned out of your little boy!
I was also able to get big brother, Chanze, to pose for a few! Such a good sport!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAYZE!!! :)

So, my husband bought me some lighting equipment months ago, but I was too afraid to use it. Lighting has always been intimidating to me, because how do you control something as enormous as the sun or flashes that aren't even connected to your camera?! Well, you just have to jump in and give it a try! That's what my End Of Summer Shoot was all about...trying out my lighting!
I am the type of person who loves perfecting new techniques and figuring out how things work, BUT...I don't like the learning process of it all! I get frustrated at myself for not knowing it all right away. But this week, I was ready for the challenge. I took a small break from pictures and started researching and reading all about my lighting. Can they make those manuals a little more boring, by the way!?
Anyway, it all paid off because I didn't have to waste time figuring out how to it all worked during the shoot... other than when I had to change out batteries TWICE because that thing is an energy hog! I will definitely be finding a new power source for it in the future! I went through 12 AA batteries in 2 hours! Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! :)
After I rounded up a bunch of girls, I took them to the BeAcH!! It was so much fun, and I learned SO much! Sorry to those of you who couldn't make it! Maybe next time! :) If it's any consolation, I'm still finding bug bites!!!
Here are the shots I got from Friday night... Hope you like!

Anyway...I'm going to work on using some of my existing equipment in a whole new way! I have been learning so much in the last couple of weeks, hence the lack of posts, so I will be so happy to be able to finally post some new stuff for everyone to see!
So wish me luck everyone that the bugs don't eat us alive and check back soon for my "End of Summer Shoot."
Fall is a SUPER busy time for photography with the changing of the season and the holidays just around the corner.. My October weekends are already filling up, so contact me soon for your family's session! Don't forget, I custom design and order holiday greeting cards as well!
If you don't like getting in front of the camera, any of our scenic shots can make great custom greeting cards... The following are links to my scenic posts. Just select your image, and I can create custom designed holiday cards out of them. They can be either folded cards or double sided 5x7 greeting cards and include your text or mine!
